Tales From a Male Nurse

“I have read quickly your e’book and spent some time on reading your episode of “The Turning Point of My Career”. I am impressed by this episode. It is very ethnographically reflective especially to young people nowadays (including quite a number of grown up people) who are judging successes in terms of monetary and materialistic achievements. When you grow older and maturer, you are in possession of more wisdom only on condition you have a clearer perception of life and societal needs against different realities. You have said rightly about this. Frankly, I can say you are a very wise man. Further more and luckier, you are a Chinese who can bring Chinese philosophy and Chinese wisdom into integration with western philosophies and this integration makes your writing more appealing. Looking forward to reading more quality writing soon and very best wishes,”

“The tale on Jason is very touching. I think it has a strong bearing of influence on your life and your attitude towards the nursing profession. “Don’t be angry. That is life”, “calm and forgiving” are very strong declaration of what medical people should have. The punching of the patients, as you describe in the book, is very satirical and an accusation of the common practice (supposingly & though I have no solid witness / proof). A good writer should be courageous to reflect the truth and you are realizing this in this episode. The parallel of these two actions against the other mentions, like “the victim…totally defenceless, delirious”, “motionless, quiet and subdued”, “ritual procedure in the hospital”, “the patient has no relatives”, “felt guilty” … is the impressive success of your writing and this brings out what is needed in the medical profession. I think this brings forth your desired claim for the right attitude in the nursing profession (moral issue???): calm, forgiving, helpful, understanding and caring ….. (maybe more on your mind). I can boldly say that this episode is very characteristically and morally appealing and implicitly accusing. It paves a strong foundation for the rest of your book. Keep up and continue. Regards, ”
